PAPA SUCRE

By now you probably now that I am slightly obsessed with the work of Sass & Bide.
I'm not trying to hide anything, I love their aesthetic. Truth be told I am not a huge fan of pink (I barely ever wear it - and for no reason other than I can never find anything that I like in a shade of pink) but the shades of pink in Sass & Bide's 'Papa Sucre' Collection are nothing short of amazing. They remind me of fairy floss at a carnival and I love fairy floss. The shades of pink mixed with black, grey and white make me want to buy every piece in the collection.

I WANT IT ALL!!

And to top it off they brought in some smashing digital prints (I had my first try at digital printing last year and have to say I am in love, such a fantastic way of creating a stand out design piece) not to mention the fusion of a strange tone of green into the mix.
I love it.

I LOVE IT ALL!

fashion squad

Carolina Engman of Fashion Squad is a total doll!
Could she look any cooler in this outfit?

In my opinion, this blonder beauty never puts a foot wrong in the world of fashion...
such wardrobe/style envy.

undercut.

I got this haircut (an undercut) a few months ago now (beginning of December) and truth be told I loved it for the first hour or so but after that I decided I hated it and wanted my long hair back (even though it was only short on one side).
I have been known to have some crazy hair styles in the past, sporting a short crown, blue, green and blonde panels, full fringes, side fringes, short on one side long on the other but getting an undercut was a whole different story!
I have grown to accept my new hair, though I'm not entirely sure I'll be getting it shaved as short as it was a few weeks ago again but while I've got it I am choosing to like it and embrace it!!

Ofcourse I'm not sure I wear it quite as well as Alice Dellal but I'm trying my hardest.
Looking back I feel quite silly at my hatred for my slightly shaved head and feel that everyone should embrace themselves, their hair cuts and their bodies just the way they are!!

Runway

A week or so ago I received my catwalk photos in the mail from my graduate fashion parade. I was so excited to open them up and have a look only to be slightly disappointed. I had seen images from past UTS design shows and the catwalk images are always so striking, bright and really capture the model and the garment perfectly. I have to see looking at my images from UTS 2010 parade, that they look a little dark, over-exposed with a hell of a lot of shadow.
Some of the images turned out ok, the lighting was better however the majority of them were dark and somehow the colours of my fabrics turned out a lot different to what they actually are.

During the show my teacher, Eric told me to take as many backstage photos as possible because you never know what the catwalk ones will turn out like. I am so glad I listened to him, I am so much happier with my backstage shots from my trusty little digital camera.

In saying this, I do still appreciate these images, it is a delight to have the catwalk moments captured!
I have added a few of the photos for your viewing - ENJOY!

CHRISTINE CENTENERA

Christine Centenera...such a babe!!
I wish I could be half as cool as this...
I love dark and muted colour palettes, mixing grey with black and nude tones is the ultimate win win in my book!
